Inside Teatro Curvo Semedo, on stage, Montemor’s Brass Band, all dressed up, prepared their instruments and practiced the last notes, while waiting for the town citizens to arrive.
Andrea Spreafico was the author of the idea. An Abba medley open karaoke with a live band on stage and a projection of the lyrics behind them.
They got in. People from all ages gathered in the audience to share the pleasure of singing. And for most, for the first time in their lives, a band played along with their singing, instead of just having a more usual karaoke machine…
“I’d suggest that everyone would stand-up and get as closer as possible […] If you don’t know English, just open your throats to a big and loud ‘lalala’” – the words came from Tiago Rodrigues, the curator, as an advice to the second collective try out. And then, all the room was singing and dancing and, most of all, screaming joy.
Once more, the artists from TryAngle gave the community, with the community giving back, a sweet and unforgettable moment.
